Our Heritage
A story more than a century in the making.
Our family proudly traces its heritage to Gerardo Barrios, the 19th-century President of El Salvador who championed coffee cultivation across Central America. More than 150 years later, coffee continues to shape our family’s story, from the mountains of Marcala, Honduras to the cafés of Sydney.
Gerard and Sharon Barrios created the Don Adán brand to honour the patriarch, Gerardo Adán Barrios Bonilla, a pioneer of specialty coffee in Honduras who dedicated his life to quality, craft, and the people behind every cup.
